In 2019, seCatalyst held the first Connect Money Impact event and our second Social Venture Bootcamp, both hosted by Vancouver Island University. The events combined inspiration and learning with thoughtfully designed engagement, providing valuable training, connections, funding opportunities and resources to help support Vancouver Island-based social entrepreneurs.
In February 2018, over 20 social entrepreneurs from across Vancouver Island gathered at Royal Roads University’s Blue Heron House for the first Social Venture Bootcamp (SVB). Facilitated by professors and instructors from the University of Victoria, Royal Roads University, Camosun College and Scale Collaborative, SVB helped participants validate their social enterprise idea and prepare to launch their venture.
On November 24th, 2016 at the Centre for Trade Education and Innovation at Camosun College three social enterprises made their final pitch to a sold out crowd of social innovators, entrepreneurs, students, and business, post-secondary, community, and government leaders.
Social Enterprise Catalyst 2015 featured a series of events designed to showcase, support and inspire the social enterprise sector on Vancouver Island. The second annual series of events were hosted in Nanaimo and surrounding communities January through May 2015.
